And both of their lives changed forever. Second chances and compassion are what GG’s Journey is all about. Found lying under a tree in Detroit, Gorgeous Gal, a terrier mix, also known as GG, was struggling to survive when Cheryl Phillips came along. GG deserved a second chance, and that is what Phillips gave her.

Get to know Phillips and learn all about GG’s Journey at her book signing and exclusive meet and greet events this spring. Visit Phillips at Leon & Lulu’s Books and Authors event on Sunday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  And on Saturday, May 12, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Ann Arbor’s Barnes & Noble, Cheryl Phillips will be hosting an exclusive meet and greet and will also have books available for purchase and sign books for those in attendance.

“If you ever wondered what the animals you take care of are thinking, GG tells you in her own words. Every shelter director or staff member should be compelled to read this book. Her journey could be the same as any animal that comes into your shelter,” said Ken Kempkens, President of the Humane Society of Macomb.

Through GG’s eyes, Phillips writes the story of GG’s long and tumultuous journey.  From her rescue to encountering a near-death experience in a shelter to her recovery, Phillips was determined to find GG the loving home of her dreams.

“The book GG's Journey is a classic. It was written with LOVE from the heart, and when you are reading it, you feel like you are taking the journey with GG. I can tell you there is no word complimentary enough to describe it,” said reader Virginia C "G".
